My deviant account hit 35.000 pageviews today, and since I've been meaning to write something for a while now, I figured this is a nice moment do do so. I'm still wondering about the phenomenon of popularity and recognition here and still can't really find answers. But I'm beginning to think that if I really cared about whether or not people like what I do I probably wouldn't do anything. So I guess I simply have to go on, just for the sake of going on find motivation in myself. But what the hell, I've been doing that my whole life, I'm pretty sure my inside reality is rich enough to provide me with some stimulus to take photos, at least for some time. I wish it could also provide me with some money, for switching to film photography, as exciting and new as it is, was a bold decision, given that I've recently moved to a much more expensive flat. But film really got me, I'm still new at this and gotta learn a lot cause there's little place for mistakes, but I really enjoy this. And now, what started out of necessity (batteries in my digital camera died, probably for good) has become a real pleasure. I still feel like an idiot running around having no idea what they're doing, but now at least I am an idiot who can pretend to know more than an average person. Throw in some big lens and few phrases using a jargon that others don't understand and I'm almost a pretentious photographer I am yet about to become.
